notes from the artist

Whether the final object is arrived at by
concept or by material, I enjoy combining many various techniques and
media. My main experiences are with fibre and ceramics, and I tend to
oscillate between the two. I am sometimes able to find a harmonious
marriage of these media and sometimes not; thus, the interplay continues to
intrigue me. In my non-abstract work, there are often touches of the
macabre, but I always hope to retain a certain sense of play, or perhaps,
safety in the ‘hypothetical.’
